Chandler is a native of Dallas and a graduate of Highland Park High School. Chandler attended the University of Mississippi as an undergraduate student, where he received his B.A. in Psychology. Chandler continued his education at Southern Methodist University where he completed his Master of Science in Counseling. He is currently completing certificate programs for Dispute Resolution and Executive Coaching.
As a graduate student at SMU, Chandler worked as an assessment administrator for Carson Consulting where he conducted interviews and assessments with prospective executive employees in order to assist with hiring and onboarding. As a practicum student, Chandler began working part time at Heritage Counseling and Consulting learning the ins and outs of private practice while developing his own.
After graduating with his Master degree, Chandler joined Heritage full time as a counseling intern and later as a Licensed Professional Counselor initially working primarily with children and adolescents. While at Heritage, Chandler has developed an award winning play therapy room, featured in Play Therapy Magazine, as well as Switzerland based Psycho Scope magazine. Additionally, he has worked with the Texas Young Lawyers Association in the “Breaking the Silence Campaign” addressing Men’s Issues. Chandler’s "guy's guy" demeanor, relatable personality, and eclectic approach has allowed him to work with a wide range of clientele from kids and adolescents to young adults, married couples, and business professionals. His therapeutic style is influenced by training in evidence bases treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Solutions Focused Therapy. Other applied modalities include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with Adlerian, Existential, and Narrative approaches.
Chandler, his wife Casey, and daughter Allie live in Highland Park and attend Highland Park Presbyterian Church. They are expecting their second child in May of 2017. In his leisure time Chandler enjoys college sports, triathlons, fishing, hunting, and most things pertaining to the great outdoors.
