Empowered Girls: Self-Esteem Group for Middle School Girls

At Heritage Counseling & Consulting in Plano, Texas, we’re proud to offer Empowered Girls, a self-esteem group therapy program designed specifically for middle school-aged girls (grades 6–8). This supportive group helps participants build confidence, discover their unique strengths, and develop a positive self-image in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.

Whether your child is struggling with peer pressure, negative self-talk, or simply adjusting to the challenges of adolescence, this group provides a nurturing space to grow emotionally, socially, and mentally.

Our Empowered Girls Group starts on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, and will be held every other Tuesday in our Plano office for 10 weeks.

Why Join a Self-Esteem Group for Middle School Girls?

Middle school can be a critical time in a girl’s development. As friendships shift and social pressures rise, girls often begin to question their self-worth. Group therapy focused on self-esteem offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Strengthen emotional resilience

  • Foster healthy peer relationships

  • Learn tools for self-awareness and self-acceptance

  • Build lifelong confidence and coping skills

Participating in a group setting helps young girls realize they are not alone and gives them space to share, reflect, and grow together.

What Your Child Will Learn:

Each session covers a key topic designed to boost self-esteem and social-emotional growth:

  • What is Self-Esteem? Understanding the foundation of self-worth

  • Strengths & Talents: Discovering what makes you you

  • Positive Affirmations & Self-Talk: Rewriting your inner dialogue

  • Identity & Self-Discovery: Exploring who you are becoming

  • Social Influences: How social groups and media shape self-image

  • Peer Pressure: Learning to stand strong in your values

  • Internal vs. External Validation: Where does your confidence come from?

  • Bullying & Boundaries: Speaking up and staying safe

  • Physical Appearance & Body Positivity: Embracing all of you

  • Values & Vision: Building a strong future based on what matters most

Sessions are interactive, creative, and age-appropriate—blending discussion, activities, and reflection in a small group format.
